About the Training Center

The OSP training center was founded in 2016, followed by a second training facility in Bessemer, AL that opened in the summer of 2022. Our programs afford students classroom as well as hands- on sessions, designed to develop best practices and provide practical experience. Our aim is to transfer knowledge and experience to our graduates, allowing them to advance their careers. It is our goal to deliver comprehensive training without compromising quality. We strive to reduce incidents by providing industry specific safety training, increasing worker awareness and participation in company safety programs, and to conduct ourselves with the highest level of professionalism.

Introduction to OSP​

The introduction to Outside Plant (OSP) course is designed to provide individuals with little to no experience in the telecommunication construction industry with outside plant construction technical education and hands-on training.  Program graduates can progress overtime from an entry level “green hat” to a fully functioning lineman.  Industry professionals use proven training methods and a comprehensive curriculum to prepare program graduates for a telecommunications construction career pathway.

OSP COURSES

The Introduction to Coax course is designed and delivered by industry professionals to provides course graduates with the technical skills to be a successful underground and/or aerial coax splicer. Course curriculum spans from tools and terminology to hands-on classroom and field instruction.

The Introduction to Fiber course is designed and delivered by industry professionals to provides course graduates with the technical skills to be a successful underground and/or aerial fiber splicer. Course curriculum spans from tools and terminology to hands-on classroom and field instruction. This course includes the Fiber Optic Association Certified Fiber Optic Technician  certification upon successful completion of the exam.
